Storage Game

Drop storage devices into the well. Two of the same kind merge into the next one up the chain, from an 8-inch floppy holding 80 KB to an NVMe SSD holding 4 TB. Let the stack cross the danger line and the run ends.

The whole app fits on a floppy disk — 1,474,560 bytes, signed and notarized. No engine, no asset bundle. Every device on screen is drawn by code.

ELEVEN TIERS

8-inch Floppy (80 KB) → 5.25-inch Floppy (360 KB) → 3.5-inch Floppy (1.44 MB) → Compact Disc (700 MB) → DVD (4.7 GB) → Blu-ray Disc (25 GB) → USB Flash (64 GB) → SD Card (128 GB) → Hard Drive (1 TB) → SATA SSD (2 TB) → NVMe SSD (4 TB)

Only the first five are ever dealt. The rest you have to build. Two NVMe SSDs do not make a twelfth tier — they annihilate, pay a large bonus, and sweep up the smallest devices near the blast.

VERSUS

Queue for a random opponent, or open a private room and read out a five-character code. Both boards run live side by side, and the higher score when both have filled takes it.

LEADERBOARD

A finished run is sent to a shared leaderboard under a generated callsign such as PLATTER-4C1. Nothing that identifies you or your machine travels with it.

Single player never needs the network. With no connection the game is complete and unchanged; finished runs wait in memory and go out when a route returns.

THREE LANGUAGES

English, Korean and Japanese, each offered under its own name. The choice takes effect immediately, and it is the only thing this app keeps on disk.

REQUIREMENTS

macOS 13.0 Ventura or later. Universal binary for Apple silicon and Intel. Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Also on the Mac App Store. The two builds share one backend and one wire format, so they queue together and can face each other.
